He is survived by: his children, Jason Mathes, Nathan Mathes (Samantha), Amber Downey and Challis Mathes (Bethany); his grandchildren, Jill, Colin, Ainsley and Ewan; the mother of his children Cindi Mathes; and his siblings, George Mathes (Sally), Kathryn Wells (Jim), Barbara Abaunza-Mathes (Benjamin), Dr. Richard Mathes (Catherine Homrig) and Jeanne Gomez (Donald Seyerle). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
