He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ruth and Glenn. He is survived by: his wife Kay; his children, Tom Walter (Carrie), Jane Young (Jeff), Anne Koch (Ted) and Chad Walter (Sherry); his siblings, Charles Walter (Shirley), Dorothy Askin (Chris) and Allan Walter (Mary); and his siblings-in-law, Marcia Walter and Pat Saeva (Connie). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marlin's name may be made to the Orleans County Joint Veteran's Council 13996 Route 31 West, Albion, NY, 14411 or Hospice of Orleans P.O. Box 489 Albion, NY 14411.
