He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pettinger and Marjorie Pettinger; his sister Doris Prior; his sons, Richard and David Pettinger; and his grandson Mathew Belanger.
He is survived by: his siblings, Carol Vincent of Alaska, Gail Pettinger of Albany, John Pettinger (Carole) of Canandaigua and Robert Pettinger (Florence) of Florida; his sons, Bill Pettinger (Michelle) of Perkinsville, NY, James Pettinger (Jamie) of Wayland, NY and John Pettinger of Livonia, NY; and his grandchildren, Kayley Clark (Robert) of Cuba, NY, Erica Tidd (Andy) of Plymouth, MA, Gregory Pettinger (Sharon) of Fairport, NY and Christina Mehlenbacher (Brad) of Ashland City, TN. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home (109 W Naples St, Wayland, NY 14572). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Richard can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester & Finger Lakes Region Chapter, 200 Meridian Centre Blvd, Suite 110, Rochester NY 14618.
