He was predeceased by: his parents, Nazario and Rufina; and his husbands, Lawrence Church and Larry. He is survived by: his siblings, Joe and Tessie Alcantara; and his close friends, John Walston and Gregg Pidgeon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
