He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Benedict and Louise McComber; his siblings, Angus McCumber, Alfred McCumber, Patrick Benedict, Carl Benedict, Stella Pecenka, Marion White and Grace Peters; and his daughter Brenda.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda (Herne); his children, Aimee of Akwesasne, Alison of Akwesasne, Adam (Iris Caldwell) of Akwesasne, Angela (Dale Charleston) of Akwesasne and Aaron (Lori Clute) of Akwesasne; and his sister Doris Kelly of California. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.
