It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Veronica Smoke of Akwesasne, New York, who passed away on July 1, 2020, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Smoke and Rita Lazore Smoke; and her sister Sally Ann Cook. She is survived by: her daughters, Stephanie Smoke of Akwesasne and Jade Smoke (Jake Whitecrow) of Akwesasne; her grandchildren, Jrake, Jr. and Jre Whitecrow; and her siblings, Mary Terrance, Clara Burk, Delores Swamp, Lisa Ward, Valerie Ramirez (Willie), Dorothy Smoke (Richard LaPage), Iris LaFrance (Pete), Alex Smoke, Jr. and Allen John Smoke (Chrissy).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance or the Akwesasne Homemakers in her memory.
