He was predeceased by: his parent Angus Mitchell; his son Ronnie Hill Square; his stepsons, Billy and Arthur Yopps; and his sister Jean Herne.
He is survived by: his parent Margaret Square Mitchell; his spouse Harriett Gray; his stepdaughter Carol; and his children, Debra Square of Akwesasne, Ted Square Jr. (Bridgette Phillips) of Akwesasne, Fred Square, Fern Vyse of Six Nations and Honey Skidders of Akwesasne. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
