It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Martin-Pierce of Akwesasne, New York, born in Cornwall, New York, who passed away on June 25, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Lyle Pierce Sr.; his stepfather Tommy Lazore; his brothers, Terry Bigtree and Kenny Leaf; his grandchildren, Mia Pierce and Dalton White; his uncle Louie Martin; his grandmother Rose Bova-Pierce; and his great-grandparent Rusty "Tehawehron" Oakes.
He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Martin of Akwesasne; his close friend Debbie Jocko; his children, Kristin Ransom (Gordon King Jr.) of Akwesasne, Stephanie (Frederick Lazore) of Akwesasne, Manny (Beverly Pierce) of Akwesasne and Lacey Pierce (Jason Cole) of Akwesasne; his grandchildren, Myeesha Ransom, Korbyn Pierce, Shyah Pierce, Lennix Pierce, Maddex Pierce, Shayleen Lazore, Dillon White, Sierra White and Dallas White; his great grandchildren, Rue Ransom, Michael Gray Jr., Dakota Rafter, Rhyat Rafter, Druvi Johnson and Draycen White; his siblings, Kelly Pierce-Bayne (Dave) of Rochester, Lynn Pierce of Akwesasne, Regina Pierce (Jeff), Elizabeth "Sweets" Lazore Jr., Peggy David of Akwesasne, Tracy Feltman of Syracuse, Lyle Pierce of Syracuse and Timothy Helm of Akwesasne; and his son Jesse Benedict.
