He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Laffin and Madeline Laffin (Morris); and his sister Katherine "Rose" King. He is survived by: his wife Alese Laffin; his children, John Paul Laffin of Cornwall, ON and Allyson O'Brien (Eric) of North Lawrence; his grandchildren, Alisha, Joseph Laffin, Keema and Dalton O'brien; and his siblings, Mayford LaRose (Wayne) of Rochester, Cecilia Herne (Ray) of Hogansburg, Esther Dufresne (Thomas) of Massena, Ora Laffin (Sara) of Indiana, Jerry Laffin (Linda) of Massena, Henry Laffin (Jean) of Hogansburg and Danny Terrance. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department Fire Prevention Program.
