It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Patrick Sawennakarate Leaf of Akwesasne, New York, born in Cornwall, Ontario, who passed away on December 26, 2021, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Leaf and Agnes Leaf (Jocko); his brothers, Franklin, George "Porky" (Minnie) and Frank "Mout" Leaf; and his nephew Kenny Leaf.
He is survived by: his close friend Cecilia Thompson; his grandson Sean Thomas; his children, Ronnie, Ruby Thomas, Shaikara, Dante, Skylar, Alexis, Kylee, Baby Anthony David (Tara) and Patrick Jacobs (Sheryl Lazore); his grandchildren, Deanna Jacobs-Emory, Challen and Seanna Jacobs-Zariah; his son Joshua Leaf (Josephine Chubb); his grandchildren, Brandon Chubb and Tianna Leaf; his daughter Natalie Leaf; his grandchild Kingston Leaf; his daughter Misty Burns Swamp (Frank); his grandchildren, Flint, Brenna, Fire and Blazen Swamp; his son Owen Leaf (Chelsea Saucier); his grandsons, Nathan and Logan Leaf; his sisters, Margaret Thompson (Robert), Pauline Thompson (Frank), Marilyn Francis (Tom), Sheila Leaf (Jennifer), Pearl Leaf and Catherine Joyce Lauzon (Jeff); and his nephew Brian Leaf. He is also survived by parents; and numerous cousins.
Due to COVID restrictions Bucky's funeral service will be held privately at the Mohawk Nation Longhouse with burial on his private land near Racquette Point immediately following.
