It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matayia Garrow of Akwesasne, New York, born in Massena, New York, who passed away on January 8, 2021, at the age of 25, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandfathers, Samuel Garrow and Bruce Jackson; and her great-grandparent John David. She is survived by: her parents, Trish Garrow and Joshua David; her stepfather Christopher Keese; her grandmothers, Terry White and Char David; her great-grandparent Mary "Itsa" David; her grandmother Dora Oakes; her siblings, Mia Keese, Christopher Keese, Kelson Lazore of Akwesasne, Sky Cook and Korban Thomas; and her aunts and uncles, Sam "Pud", Shannon, Ross, Amanda, Odie, Ryan, Kristy, Tracy, Tyson, Kierstyn, Michelle, Misty, Jodi, Shayne and Jocelyn. She is also survived by many great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held privately. Visitation will be occupancy controlled with those attending required to observe social distancing and wear face coverings.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.
