He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Bero and Mildred Bero (Ransom); his siblings, Gerald Bero, Andrew Bero, Genevieve Bero and Lucille "Lucy" Ward; his siblings-in-law, Robert "Bob" Ward, Tommy Ransom, Greg Benedict and Geraldine "Debbie" Bero; and his nephews, Robert "Bobby" Ward and Christopher Thompson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Eleanor Ransom of Akwesasne, Loretta Benedict of Akwesasne, Ann Bero (Kenny King) of Akwesasne, Connie Thompson (Jerry) of Akwesasne, Walter Bero of Akwesasne and Carl Bero of Akwesasne; his sister-in-law Doris Cook; his close friends, Inez Cook and Carol Garrow; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Bugger Brown and Melissa Ward.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider donations in his memory to Hospice of the North Country.
