He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. and Beatrice H. Macdonald Cunningham, Sr.; his son Joseph Cunningham; and his brother Merle Cunningham. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Martha Mary Herbstritt; his children, Dianne Klotzbach (Drew) of Basom, NY, Connie (Christopher) of Rochester, NY, Steven Cunningham of Boston, MA and Blaine Cunningham (Sharon) of Webster, NY; his grandchildren, Chad Klotzbach, Morgan Wagner (Craig), Samuel of Montana, Mason of Montana, Sadie Cunningham and Grace Cunningham; his daughter-in-law Jill Cunningham of Emporium; his siblings, Ann Bush of St. Marys and Donald Cunningham (Carol) of St. Marys; and his sister-in-law Carol Cunningham of St. Marys.
