He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard B. Knapp and Shirlee Mather Knapp. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his daughters, Laura Knapp of Washington, D. C., Sara Nicolls of Naples and Cecily Spencer (Nathan) of Gloucester; his grandchildren, Calvin, Hope and Jason Spencer; his sister Carolyn Hemming (Gordon); and his sister-in-law Pat Kishline (Carl). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children.
