She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Merrick Sr. and Ruth Heffner Merrick Strong; her stepfather Edward Strong; her siblings, Adelia Emerson, Betty Chapin, Mary Aumick, Claude Merrick Jr. and Duwayne Merrick; her niece Cathy Emerson; and her nephews, Paul Aumick, Michael Emerson, Charles Emerson Jr. and John Merrick.
She is survived by: her children, Terri, Joe Smith of Athens, TN, Sharon, Gary Mackley of Marietta, Robert, Julie Clark Jr. of Jasper, James, Kristy Clark of Ocklawaha, FL, Jodi Clark and Matthew Bond of Plainfield, CT; her grandchildren, Holly Rice, Jason Rice (Tricia), Dillon Smith (Connie), Amanda Chimics (Jason), Joshua Smith (Ariel), Heather Mackley (Tom Rogers), Jennifer Burkholder (Andrew), Lindsey Mackley, Andrea Pate (Kyle), Stephen Clark (Courtney), Makenzie Hill (Dematrius), Kyla Clark, Kamryn Clark, Kristopher Clark, Kyle Clark, Ashleigh Molnar (Brandon) and Cassandra Miller; and her sisters, Aletta Phillips of Chesterfield, VA and Joan Evingham of Thurston.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the H. P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home - Woodhull (1607 Main St, Woodhull, NY 14898). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Addison United Methodist Church (8 Front St, Addison, NY 14801).
Reflecting back on old memories has been hard, to see just how much Parkinson's had slowly and slowly taken from all of us over the years.
