He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur McDermott and Hertha McDermott; and his siblings, Margaret Paciorek (Jim), Hereatha Herrick and Daniel McDermott.
He is survived by: his wife Linda McDermott; his children, David McDermott (Melody), Cheryl Logue and Lisa Gaboriault (Mike); his stepchildren, Laurie Patterson, Pat Grabowski and Chris Smith (Christie); his grandchildren, Chelsea McDermott, Amber Logue, Taylor Lepiscopo (Danny), Scott Logue, Claire and Carter Smith; his siblings, Mike McDermott (Dottie), Christina Miller and Arthur McDermott; his sister-in-law Marsha McDermott; his close friend Cameron MacDonnell; and his pet Iggy.
