He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Earl Kampmeier and Shirley Everett of Kansas; his son Christopher L. Kampmeier; and his stepfather Michael Everett. He is survived by: his children, Matthew, Johnathan Kampmeier, Anna Kampmeier-Stonebraker, Skylar Kampmeier and Jennifer Swanson; his siblings, W. Michael Kampmeier, Marilyn Kampmeier-Vest, Susan Beers and Regina Kampmeier; and his stepmother Donna Kampmeier. He is also survived by grandchildren.
