He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alvah VanDemark and Nettie VanDemark (Chrisey); his wife Nancy Orser VanDemark; his children, Brenda Nieves, Christina VanDemark-Shirk (David) and Richard VanDemark (Jessica); his grandchildren, Heide Nieves, Donald Heil (Sabrina), Tiffani Heil (Stephen), Thomas Nieves (Devyn), Richard VanDemark, Alexa VanDemark and Abby Shirk; his great grandchildren, Aria, Lyla Smith and Callie Pike; his nephew Michael Gates (Maryanne); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amanda and Branden; and his sister Virginia Gates.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Richard's name to the American Cancer Society.
