He was predeceased by: his father Ronald D. Paes; his stepsister Amy Paes; and his cousin James Paes. He is survived by: his mother Susan Walker Thiel; his stepfather Ronald L. Hesley; his son Ethan Walker Paes; his close friend Lillian Campbell; his granddaughter Ashlyn; his brothers, Steven A. Paes (Rina) and Brian L. Thiel; his stepbrothers, William Thiel (Deliah) and Lawrence Thiel II; and his sisters, Laura Lapine, Ashley Martinez (Jeremy) and Lindsay Wynkoop. He is also survived by many loving aunts & uncles, as well as cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
