She was predeceased by: her father Walter Highland. She is survived by: her mother Mary Highland (Barney); her husband Daniel L. Schoonmaker; her daughters, Jennifer Shea (Ryan), Jessica Schenck (Peter) and Renee Ciardi (Matthew); her grandchildren, Elouise Shea, Claudia Shea, Lauren Shea, Lia Schenck, Gracie Schenck, Joseph Ciardi and Nicolas Ciardi; and her sisters, Judy Mihm, Diane Schmeltz and Christine Feazelle.

Contributions may be made in Cathy's name to Hudson Valley Hospice and/or to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
