He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Sr. Messina and Jeannette Messina (Banks). He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Tammy Messina, Anthony Messina (Stephanie), Tim Messina (Molly), Tracy Burton (Damon) and Jason Messina (Liz); and his sisters, Anna Messina and Florence Monahan. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Anthony's name.
