He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Cleveland (Greely) and Johnny Pete; his wife Lucille Lossing; and his siblings, Dennis Pete, Mary Pete, Stan Cleveland and Linda Cleveland.
He is survived by: his children, Pauline Snapp (Rodney), Louella Pete (Jerry) and Hilman Pete Jr. (Robin); and his sister Velita Pete. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
