It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gus T. Contos of Sparks, Nevada, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on January 30, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tasos and Mary; his wife Barbara; his children, Lisa and Mike (Becky); and his long-haired Dachshund Rowdy. He was also cherished by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Nevada Humane Society.

“I'm so sorry for your loss. This may seem unbelievable, but I remember Uncle Gus well, even though I haven't seen him in probably over 60 years. I was very young when Aunt Barbara and Uncle Gus moved. Some people are unforgettable and Uncle Gus was one of them. I thought he was so funny and kind. He made a big impression on such a young person. Again, my sympathies for Aunt Barbara, Lisa and Mike and Becky, his grand children and great grand children. Connie Oplinger”
