Steven Thomas DiPietro Obituary
In Heaven there is Rest, Brother in the Bond 248.
Our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend died peacefully but unexpectedly in sleep on March 2, 2023. He was born May 24 1978 in Reno and lived an amazing and impactful life. He grew up with 2 sisters and lifelong friends playing baseball , skiing at Sky Tavern, golfing and basketball. He graduated from Reed HS and attended UNR. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He moved to Chicago and worked as a food server in some of the best restaurants. The culinary bug bit him. He lived close to Wrigley Field and could not get enough of the Cubs or Jimmy Buffet. He continued to pursue his dream of going to paramedic school and work in the field. He went to work for Med-Ex Ambulance in Chicago. His paramedic service included time in South Chicago and New Orleans. He was part of search and recovery/rescue during Hurricane Katrina . A time he never forgot. After 10 years in Chicago he came back to Reno and started his culinary career. He trained at Nichols State in Thibodaux Louisiana and TMCC. He was given incredible opportunities working at Roundabout Grill and most recent Whitney Peak Restaurant where he was the banquet chef at the time of his death.
His loving circle of family and friends is large and words cannot express the gratitude we have for your powerful thoughts and prayers. Steve leaves behind his Dad and bonus Mom Marv and Susan DiPietro, Mom and bonus Dad Sally and Dale Pappas, sisters Erin DiPietro and Jill Diaz, niece and nephew Antonio and Aly, bonus brother Kyle Pappas, cousins Rob and Sheri DiPietro , Makenzie DiPietro , aunts Sharon Markley, Francine Triguero and Jane DiPietro and many aunts uncles and cousins in Tennessee, Georgia and Chicago.
