He is survived by: his wife Maud-Kathrin Carl; his children, Andie Crowell of Reno, Julie Westfall (Joe) of Garden Grove, CA, Jeff Crowell (Debra) of Meridian, ID and Rich Crowell (Marni) of Fort Collins, CO.; his grandchildren, Joe Crowell, Alex Schmidtfall (Erika) of Glasgow, Scotland, Kate Westfall of Reno, Spencer Crowell (Karen Ann), Jim Crowell and Riley Crowell; his great grandchildren, Jasper and Rex; his sister-in-law Sonja Carl Gilligan (Mike); his nieces, Vianna Varner (Brett), Stephanie Bruso (Brad), Lisa Carl and Sonja Carl; and his nephew Eric Carl.
