He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lengyel and Bertha Lengyel (Fabian); his siblings, Bertha Yamnitzky, Albert, Alexander, Joseph Jr., Margaret Lee and John; and his nephews, Barry and Jeremy Lengyel.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Tammie Thomas (Spivey) and Thomas Spivey; his stepgrandchildren, Brady, Brittany Thomas, Greig and Kenji Spivey; and his nieces and nephews, David Lengyel, John, James Yamnitzky, Mark, Jeffrey, Douglas Lee, Sondra Skibiak and Valerie Lewis. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
