He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Erwin Schuler and Ruth Schuler; his sister Nancy Schuler; his uncles, Curwood Schuler and Thomas Schuler; and his aunt Evelyn Reichard.
He is survived by: his daughters, Faustina Schuler Saltzgiver and Selina Schuler Surface; his grandchildren, Wade Surface, Jade Surface, Miranda Saltzgiver and Marisa Saltzgiver; and his siblings, Ruth Schuler Brooks (Michael), Christine Schuler and Christopher Schuler (Charlene). He is also survived by 7 Nieces and 4 Nephew, and 17 grand nieces and nephews.
