He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Victor Keele and Edna Christena Keele; his wife Edla; and his siblings, Weldon, Ellen, John, Vernel, Marva and Connie.
He is survived by: his children, Christina (Cody), Melvin Richard Jr. (Tammy), Joan (Delmar) and Thomas Leone (Rhonda); and his sister Ina Vee McElprang (Bill). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren.
