He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Rollin Johnson (Marjorie) and Ida Ione Graham (Allan); his daughters, Linda Taylor (Ron) of Logandale and Rebecca "Becky" Jensen (John) of Kamas; his daughter-in-law Bonnie Johnson; his sisters, Susie Hill King and Darnetta Johnson Miller; his wife Dolores Brown Johnson; his children, Charles Douglas "Doug" Johnson and Debra (Kevin Miner); and his siblings, Franklin, Roy Johnson, Floyd Allan Hill, King Johnson, Allene Hill Gibson and Nancy Hill Fetters. He was also cherished by his seventeen grandchildren; his fifty-six great-grandchildren.
The Polio Foundation sent him to learn the trade of printing at the University in Huntsville, TX, and this is where he met Dolores Molene Brown who was working at the print shop.
