He is survived by: his wife Robin R. Sharp; his children, Del Sharp, Julene Helean (Mark), Michael Sharp (Nely) and Gregory Sharp (Rebekah); his stepsons, Travis and Derek Surber; his grandchildren, Jason Helean (Noell) and Tessa Nelson (Spencer); and his siblings, Bonnie Andrus and Ted Sharp (Anita).
Genealogy was another passion of Val's, and he made countless contributions to his own family history and the histories of others.
