He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Brettschneider and Emma Schleif; his siblings, John Brettschneider, Carl Brettschneider, Loretta Hamilton and Loraine Gruening; and his son Robert Harry Brettschneider (ChakPing "Connie" Brettschneider).
He is survived by: his siblings, Florence Chance, Tom Brettschneider and Randy Brettschneider; his children, Judy Brettschneider and William Brettschneider; and his granddaughter Jacqueline. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
