He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Michael Ray; his mother Betty Sue Jester; his stepfather Bill Jester; his father Leonard Ray, Jr.; and his grandparents, Daisy Jewell Henley (McKeel), Clyde Henley, Leonard Ray, Sr. and Cleo Ray (Reedy).

He is survived by: his wife Marla "Kay" Ray; his daughters, Jessica Flatt (Rob) and Anastasia Ray; his stepson Nathanial Bork (Nikki); his stepgrandchild Cheyenne; his stepdaughter Stephanie Jacobs (Matt); his stepgrandchildren, Annaleise and Orrin; and his siblings, Michael, Dan, Ron (Sharon) and Cheri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews from his siblings and previous marriage.
