It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fernando Michael Santaella (Ely, Nevada), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2018, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Alexandra; his children, Samantha Gort (Jesse) of Montevideo, MN, Robert Santaella (Allison) of New Ulm, MN and Thomas Santaella (Sylvia); his grandchildren, Albie, Alivia, Hudson and Archer; his parents, Fernando Santaella of Hoffman Estates, IL. and Lorraine Santaella of Hoffman Estates, IL.; his nieces and nephews, Joey, Danny, Jenny, Angela, Natalie, Isabella, Juliana, Dominic and Lindsay; and his cousin Fernando Miro. He is also survived by friends and co-workers at the RNMC, who looked after the little details that enabled Alex to focus all her attention on caring for and seeking treatments for her beloved husband.
