He was predeceased by: his mother Dora Hurdsman Muir; his children, David George Muir and Nancy Fay Muir; his father Leon D. Muir; and his brother Gene Muir.
He is survived by: his wife Jorja Lamphiear of Elko; his daughter Emily Crofts (Scott) of Osino, Nevada; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Dominguez (Nathan) of Elko, Katherine "Vivi" Hoover of Elko and Sam Hoover of Elko; and his siblings, Beverly Pond of Venice and Steven Muir (Connie) of Spring Creek, Nevada..
