He is survived by: his son Ricky Brookes of Carson City; his sisters, Dale Giotes of Sarasota and Dawn Turner (Steve) of Sarasota; and his sister-in-law Marsha Brookes of Amarillo, Texas..
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Infinity Hospice in Carson City or any Cancer research center.
