He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shure and Lois Shure; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his sons, Rodney (Lisa), Blake (Lisa) and Byron; his grandson Everett; his brother Steve; his brother-in-law Edward; his nieces, Krista (Ethan) and Miranda; his nephew Michael (Jaelyn); and his pets, Misty and Pearl.

Donations may be made to: Friends of the Sutro Tunnel, University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, or the Nevada Humane Society.
