He was predeceased by: his parents, Cresencia Duran Carranza and Anastacio Torres Herrera; his former wife Felisa Landeros Rodriguez; and his son Octavio. He is survived by: his wife Elena Ortiz; his children, Reynaldo Torres, Irma Mandujano (Benigno), Felicitas Rojas (Joel), Maria Del Refugio Guerrero (Miguel), Angelina Gonzalez (Daniel), José Torres (Celia), Rubén Torres (Bibiana) and Josie Hoffos (Shane); and his stepchildren, Elsa Herrera (Alvaro), Sonia Paredes, Vilma Bedoy (Ernesto) and Mirna Vázquez (Melvin). He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, nearly 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
