He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Herrera and Andrea Herrera (Gallegos); his wife Gloria Herrera (Castillo); and his grandson Joshua Gurnick. He is survived by: his daughters, Sonya Woodhouse (Woody) of Albuquerque, Synthia Hammer (Don) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Shelley Gurnick (Rob) of Gig Harbor, Washington and Sheree Evans (Bobby) of Mechanicsville, Maryland.; his sister Irene Kowatch of Tularosa; his grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, McKenzie Rivard, Renette Hammer, Jace Paust, Michael Cruz Paust, Shelley Gurnick, Danae Torres, Teagen Paust and Emily Woodhouse; his great grandchildren, Max Johnson and Fabiana Botella; his grandson Jeremiah Woodhouse; his great-nephew Esau Hanway; and his grandson Esau Henry Woodhouse.
In lieu of flowers, his daughters request that a mass be said in his name, at their respective churches.
