He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Barela and Frances Barela. He is survived by: his children, Vanessa Gonzales (Nancy), Albert Barela (Carla), Melissa Barela (Sean) and Katrina Barela; his grandchildren, Armando, Anissa, Miah, Isaac, Gabriella, LaRae, Aliyana and Zamaria; and his great grandchild Jonael. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, and 4 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
