With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Ida Gandert Romero of Tucumcari, New Mexico, born in Chacon, New Mexico, who passed away on July 23, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, José Amalio and Donilia Torres Gandert; her husband Ben C. Romero; her son Robert J. Romero; her grandson Tino Romero; her children-in-law, Dr. Sharon Romero and Brian Dehay; and her brother José Gandert.
She is survived by: her children, Ben (Mardy) of Potomac Falls, VA, Peter (Marianne) of Leonardtown, MD, Martin (Vonnie) of Rio Rancho, NM, Carlos (Niva), Mark Romero of Tucumcari, NM, Teresa (Steve Stephenson) of Tucumcari, NM, Loretta Dehay of Pflugerville, TX and Veronica (Kyle White) of Albuquerque; and her sisters, Rita Schroeder and Martha Romero. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grand children and 4 great-great-grand children.
Due to the COVID restrictions, the burial will be for immediate family only.
