It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Chavez of Tucumcari, New Mexico, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramon Chavez and Celia Chavez (Martinez); her child Baby Chavez; her parents-in-law, Felimon and Mable Chavez; and her siblings-in-law, Lupe Lopez, Frank, Phillip Chavez, Elisha Chavez and Stella Chavez.
She is survived by: her husband Charlie Chavez of Anne's Catholic Church; her children, Sonya Montaño (Jeremy) of Tucumcari, Felimon Chavez (Desiree) of Tucumcari and Charllene Meier (Cody) of Hobbs, NM.; her grandchildren, Heaven Lopez (Ulises), Jaelen, Eliana Montaño, Nehemiah Chavez, Jordan Chavez, Trey Chavez, Andres Chavez, Isiah Benavidez and Alexis Meier; her great grandchildren, Uhziah, Renee Lopez and Alejandro Benavidez; her siblings, Dolores Lopez of Clovis, Ernie Chavez (Paula), Johnny Ray Chavez, Priscilla Lovato (Ted) and Norman Chavez; and her in-laws, Bertha, Felimon Chavez, Jr. (Juanita) of Amarillo, TX, Sonny Chavez (Dorothy) of Las Vegas, NV, Mae Hughes (Michael) of Halton, TX, Joe Chavez (Verla) of Portales, Robert Chavez (Gwen) of Tucumcari, Alfred Chavez (Georgia) of Tucumcari, Ruby Sandoval (Danny) of Las Vegas, NV, Ruben Chavez (Sylvia) of Tucumcari, Daniel Chavez of Tucumcari, Rocky Chavez (Gina) of Tucumcari and Charlotte Marquart (Scott) of Tucumcari. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
