It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard Chester Whitener (Texico, New Mexico), born in Clovis, New Mexico, who passed away on November 19, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Caruthers Whitener and Ida Whitener (Myers); his sister Marjorie Jean Watkins; and his wife Wilma Nell Smith. He is survived by: his children, Gerald Dan Whitener (Cheryl) of Pleasant Hill, Charlene Whitener of Belen, NM and Terry Whitener of Pleasant Hill; his grandchildren, Dustin Whitener and Denise Smith (Jerrod); his great grandchildren, Beau and Abby Smith; and his children, Cal and Boys Ranch.
