He was predeceased by: his mother Theresa Montoya. He is survived by: his father Rudy Valdez Sr.; his siblings, Darlene Persons, Raymond Valdez and Anthony Montoya; his nieces and nephews, Michael and Orion; and his grandmothers, Juanita Valdez-Arguey and Gloria Martinez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the youth programs like the Boys and Girls Club in Rudy's memory.
