She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert Vargas; her son Estevan Vargas; her grandson Luis Vargas; her parents, Benito Mares and Solidea Mares; and her brother Robert Mares.
She is survived by: her brothers, Amado Mares (Gloria) and J. B. Mares (Lena); her granddaughter Lynda Osmond; and her great grandchild Solidea Vargas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that were all dear to her heart, and many other relatives and friends.
