He was predeceased by: his wife Suzy Montano; his parents, Ino Montano and Cora Montano; his brothers, Gilbert Montano and Johnny Montano; his niece Elizabeth "Lisa" Montano; his nephew James Vigil; his siblings-in-law, Robert Gonzales and Ernestine Cardenas; his stepchildren, Sonny Nichols and Gloria Martinez; and his great grandchild James Salazar.
He is survived by: his children, Mario Montano and Eleanor Montano; his stepchildren, John Gonzales (Teddie), Frank Nichols (Jennifer), Gerald Nichols (Louella) and Linda Vigil (Paul); his granddaughter Carmen Barrera (Mathew); his great grandchild Lorenzo Sedillo; and his sister Tillie Montano. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, step- grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
