With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher Ray Chavez of Springer, New Mexico, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 20, 2024 at the age of 50. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Christopher may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Christopher touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Julio, Sohpia Chavez of Springer, NM, Salvador and Phyllis Montoya of Albuquerque, NM; and his sister Cassandra Tafoya-Portillo of Springer, NM..
He is survived by: his parents, Joe Chavez and Louise Chavez of Springer, NM; his sister Barbara Munoz of Springer, NM; and his children, Samantha Chavez of Springer, NM. and Sergio Espinoza of Cimarron, NM. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (605 5th St, Springer, NM 87747). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
