It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alfonso Benavidez of Socorro, New Mexico, who passed away on August 21, 2020, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his children, Eric Benavidez and Natalia Benavidez; his son-in-law Kristopher Gonzales; his parent Mary Vega; his brother Alfredo; his sister-in-law Shelley Benavidez; his brother Lorenzo; his sister-in-law Veronica Benavidez; and his sister Christina Benavidez (Richie Tafoya). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In honor of Alfonso's memory, donations are being accepted to purchase "Fonzy Bears" to be donated to local fire departments for children in need.
