He was predeceased by: his father Martin Okonkwo; his daughters, Sonya Garcia and Paula Olivas; and his siblings, Becky Garcia, Lucinda Aragon and Johnny Garcia.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Martinez (Tony), Sonia DeNight (Christian), Rupert Garcia Jr. (Elida), Ramon Garcia (Kathleen), Javier Garcia and Cesar Garcia; and his sister Trinie Romero. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
