He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose "Joe" Polanco and Consuelo Peru Polanco; his son Anthony Polanco; and his brothers, Theodore and Ramon Polanco.

He is survived by: his sons, Mariano Estrada (Mary Lou) of Silver City, James Polanco (Sandra) of Nevada and Brian Polanco (Jerrene) of Hurley; and his sisters, Celia Estrada of Silver City and Marta Ortega of Gila. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
