It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanie Garcia Montes of Silver City, New Mexico, born in Encino, New Mexico, who passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Garcia and Lola Garcia; her daughter-in-law Veronica Montes; her daughter Diana Montes; and her siblings, Peter Garcia Jr., Danny Garcia and Julie Ann Garcia.
She is survived by: her husband Francisco "Frank" Melendrez Montes; her son Joseph Montes of Silver City, NM; and her grandchildren, Pamela Duda, Julie Anne Cohn (Shawn), Kristina Sykes (Brandan), Michaela Simpson, Michael Simpson, Christian Padilla, Xavier Padilla, Adrianna Fernandez and Joey Padilla. She is also survived by her six Great-Grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Terrazas Funeral Chapels (1 Fort Bayard Rd, Santa Clara, NM 88026). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Francis Newman Center (914 W 13th St, Silver City, NM 88061).
